May 2018—Playing a key role in the ANSI accreditation audit of NCCCO was IUOE Local 77. The Operating Engineers’ local, which covers Washington DC and surrounding areas, demonstrated CCO mobile crane operator and tower crane operator practical exams for ANSI assessors and international guests at its 170-acre training facility in Accokeek, MD.
These demonstrations were a crucial step required for ANSI’s once-every-five-years reaccreditation of CCO personnel certification programs, and the Local 77 facility generously made available both equipment (including a Link-Belt 108 H5 lattice boom crane and Comansa 5211 tower crane) and operators so that the visitors could see exactly what’s involved in the CCO practical exam process.
